New Release: Three Guilty Pleasures by Nikki Sloane

Three Guilty Pleasures by Nikki Sloane is available now!

Deliciously addicting! The Blindfold Club series is your next binge read!

I didn’t expect to fall off the stage and land in the powerful arms of this gorgeous man. He’s a brutal warrior on the rugby field and a delicate artist with the cello, and the combination is irresistible. His music seduces. It inspires my dancing and demands my surrender. I gave up on my dream once, and I’ll need his help to resume the chase. He’s the only one who sees the real me, and when we take the stage together, I’m willing to give him everything. My submission. The dark secret I’ve been keeping. Even my tenuous heart. But will he want any of it once he knows the truth?

REVIEW:

3-3.25 stars

I am conflicted on this book. There were parts I really liked and parts I didn't. This is is Tara and Grant's book. Tara is an ameteur ballet dancer and she works at the Blindfold Club on the table (as a prostitute). Grant is Ruby's (from Three Sweet Nothings) best friend. He is a semi-professional rugby player and a cellist. While Tara is rehearsing on stage  for a performance,  she falls off the stage into the orchestra pit and onto Grant's lap. The two have a pretty instant connection and like each other right away. But Tara has some major complications and things that she is afraid to tell Grant, like that she works at the Blindfold Club. The two have a lot to work out before they can begin a relationship and they fall in love along the way.

I liked Tara and Grant. Tara is very open sexually and a free spirit. Grant is a good guy and he doesn't shy away from Tara's secrets. He wants her any way he can get her. They had good chemistry and made a fun, sexy couple and a good match.

What I didn't love was that Tara is a committed submissive with two Doms, Silas and Regan from Three Dirty Secrets. I didn't like that she was a necessary part of their relationship. It ruined their HEA for me a bit. I didn't love the descriptive sexy scenes between them sprinkled in the book because I felt it took away from Tara and Grant's relationship. Admittedly, FFM menage is not my favorite. While Tara did not love her doms, she really liked being with them and their sexy times. It is a big part of the book that she has this relationship with them and it dictates how her relationship with Grant plays out. It is not clear at the end of the book whether she continues to be their submissive, while being in a relationship with Grant.  He showed himself to also be a dom and he loved her. I didn't understand why he would possibly not be enough for her. Maybe if her doms had been two random others, instead of a past couple from the series, I would have liked the scenario more or understood it better. Instead, it made Silas and Regan, and her being their submissive, the obstacle to her relationship with Grant and the "bad guy" in the situation. She abstains for actually sleeping with Grant because of their rules for her, meanwhile sleeping with them even at the very end. I only enjoyed the sexy scenes with Grant alone.

Also, the fact that she worked at the Blindfold Club and had sex for money, was a turn on for both her and Grant. We didn't know if she continues that or not at the end. I was just left with the feeling that monogamy and one sexual partner in each other was not that important to them.  I was not comfortable with that. In all of Nikki Sloane's other books, I liked that the couple was truly committed, possessive, and obsessed with each other alone. That did not feel the case here. The end felt kind of rushed and vague. There is an epilogue, but the details of their relationship are blurry and not defined.

This is definitely a sexy book. I liked Tara and Grant as a couple and felt their love. I just couldn't wrap my head around Grant being okay with Tara sleeping with others. I wanted more of a defined relationship and I needed more details of how it would be. Still, this is an entertaining and easy read. I enjoyed the book overall,. even if it's not my fave from this series. I still love this series and Nikki Sloane's books and look forward to more from her in the future.
