Waking up to a text
asking why you stood up your blind date is not the best way to start the day,
especially when the man in question is standing half dressed in your kitchen.
Maybe Dakota Newton
shouldn’t have assumed the gorgeous man with a devastating smile standing
outside the coffee shop was her date. She probably— Okay, she definitely
shouldn’t have slept with him, regardless of how hot the chemistry between them
was. But how could she know Mr. Right was actually Mr. Wrong?
Braxton Adams has
been called a few things in his life, but a liar was never one of them. That
all changes when he’s approached by a beautiful woman who thinks he’s there to
meet her for a date.
As a businessman,
Brax knows to trust his gut and never let an opportunity pass him by, so he
pretends to be someone he’s not.
Maybe he shouldn’t
have lied. Maybe he should have come clean. But in the end, it doesn’t matter,
because now he has to prove he’s not the wrong man but the right one.
So what if he’s not
the man she’s expecting? She’s the one he’s been waiting for.

This was a pretty good book. The Wrong/Right Man is Braxton and Dakota's story. Dakota is getting over a breakup after catching her fiance cheating on her. She moves to a new city with a new job. She is also reluctant to try dating again and wants to spend time coming back into herself after her ex tried to change her to fit his political aspirations. But her friend tells her she knows the perfect guy for her, so Dakota agrees to a blind date with a guy named Adam. When she arrives at the coffee shop, she meets the most gorgeous guy and has an amazing connection. She asks him if he is Adam and he agrees. After an fabulous night together, Dakota awakens to many texts from her friend about why she stood up Adam. It turns out the "Adam" that she had a date with was Braxton Adams. He was smitten at first sight with Dakota and willing to do whatever it took for a date with her. After finding out that Braxton lied, it takes him a while to convince her to give him a chance to be together, and to complicate matters more, he is the owner of the company where her new job is. But she eventually acquiesces. They soon find that they are meant to be together and fall in love.
This book was a little different from other Reynolds' books in that the couple doesn't get together quickly and stay together. It takes nearly to the end for them to get together and exchange I love yous. Also, this was a bit of an angsty read with more fighting between the couple and push and pull. They have quite a bit to work out together between them. But I liked Braxton and Dakota. Braxton is a pretty typical alpha, overbearing at times, but Dakota pushed back on him a lot and made him work for her. I wondered how they told people at work about their relationship because much was made out of that as an obstacle. I also felt the end was a little rushed and I would have liked more happy times between the couple. But, overall, I thought the story was very cute and I liked the dash of suspense.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. There are some sweet, sexy, funny and fiesty moments. I enjoyed Braxton and Dakota's journey to romance and I look forward to more from Ms. Reynolds in the future!
