This was a good addition to the Masters and Mercenaries kids series. Live, Love, Spy is Lou and TJ's story. Lou is Boomer's daughter and TJ is Erin and Theo Taggart's son. They grew up as close friends and developed feelings for each other secretly, but never acted on them. Lou has always been a genius with big dreams of the future, but TJ has felt like he wasn't worthy of her or smart enough for her romantically. Lou always felt like too much of a nerd to be more than friends for him. He went into the military and Lou went on college without him. But then she went from college to the CIA team where she works with the Taggart kids. When TJ is kidnapped and accused of working with an international arms dealer, Lou is sent in to save him, which opens his eyes to who she really is now. He sees that she is no academic, shrinking violet and that there might actually be a future between him and the woman he has secretly loved for years. Lou is reluctant because TJ has not shown any romantic interest before, but as they work together to clear his name, she too soon sees that they are meant to be together.
This story was good as Ms. Blake's always are. I liked Lou and really liked TJ. He adored Lou so much and was a sweetie. Lou was a little stubborn for my taste and pushed him away a good bit. I wanted to see a little more of their close friendship before it turned romantic, so that I had more evidence of how much they already loved each other, even if they didn't admit it. While I didn't quite love this book as much as book one, I did enjoy it. I really liked TJ and Lou as a couple once they got together. I definitely felt like they were meant to be, even if I wanted them to struggle less. Also, I loved Kala and Lou's close friendship. They were awesome together and I was glad Kala had Lou to lean on at times. I love glimpses of the other couples to come in this series, especially Kala and Cooper and Tristan/Aidan/Carys. I can't wait for more from this series; it's just as good as the original. Lexi Blake is such a consistently great author and I love the Masters and Mercenary world.
