This was a good book! This is Eilish and Brian's story. Brian is a famous rugby star on the same team as Sean, Eilish's cousin, and Ronan. Eilish met Brian when she was 19 at Ronan's wedding. She was young and innocent without much experience with men. Brian pursued her, talked sweetly to her and pretty much swept her off her feet. She ate it up, imagining she had found love, spending the night with him and giving him her v-card. The next morning, she realized that Brian had been drunk, and still was, and didn't not remember her or the previous night at all. Also, Brian was a jerk and kicked her out of the hotel room. She was heartbroken by the incident and, even more heartbroken, to find out that she was pregnant a few months later. Brian was in the tabloids with his new girlfriend and gotten a DUI. It was obvious that he was not a good guy and an alcoholic. Eilish didn't think he would believe her or want a child if she told him she was pregnant. He didn't even know her name. So she kept the baby a secret from him. Her uppity, society mother disowns her and she moves to America to live and raise the baby on her own. She ends up working three jobs and struggling to support them both with no help, making herself sick in the process. Her cousin, Sean, helps her out big time, loaning her money so she can move back to her hometown and helping her finish school. Now, her son is 5 years old and she's gotten a job with Sean (and Brian's) rugby team as a physiotherapist. Brian is 18 months sober and doesn't recognize her, but is interested in Eilish right away. He knows he might not be ready for a relationship yet in his sobriety journey, though. Eilish feels guilty for not telling Brian about Patrick, but she knows she has to. They spend time together and she eventually tells him. They have a long road to work out their relationship and their future as a family, but it all works out in the end. 

This was actually a really good book. I love the "secret" baby trope and it is well done here. Brian and Eilish were great characters. Eilish was strong. She had been through a lot, pregnant at 19, cut off from her family, working three jobs with a newborn and living alone with no support or help. I felt bad for her but proud that she had weathered it and come out on top, with the help of her cousin, Sean. Eilish was weary of Brian. She knew that she could easily get hurt by him again, but she still felt a connection to him when she met him again. Brian had been humbled and was learning how to be a sober person again. It was like starting over from scratch. I loved that Brian knew he was not a good guy before and wanted to be a better person now. I felt like his alcoholism was dealt with well. He was not played up as being a manwhore at all. Brian knew he had hurt people but could not remember specifics from when he was under the haze of alcohol. He was so sorry about what had transpired between him and Eilish and that he could not remember her, because he really liked her in the present and saw her for the gem she is. He definitely understood why she hadn't told him and knew he would not have reacted well to find out she was pregnant at that time. He held no grudges towards Eilish. He was just very happy to find out he was a father, loving Patrick from first sight. Despite him being a sports star, he knew how lucky he was to have found an awesome girl like Eilish, and even though he knew he might not deserve them, he wasn't going to let her or his son go. It was really sweet to see how they started off slow and developed their relationship from friends to lovers and more. They had some obstacles to overcome, but it all worked out in the end.

All of the characters were unique and well-developed. I liked the side characters of Sean and Brian's friend, Will. I didn't really like Sarah, Brian's AA sponsor, because she created drama between the couple in her mistrust of Eilish. I also didn't like Eilish's friend, Josey, or her mother for the same reason. I didn't love the big conflict. I felt like it was a silly misunderstanding that was thrown in for drama's sake and blown out of proportion. That kept me from giving the book more than 4 stars. But despite that I really loved the storyline. I loved both Brian and Eilish, as well as their son, Patrick, who I felt was very realistically written.

Overall, this was a unique, sweet book and I enjoyed it a lot! This was my first book to read in this series and from L. H. Cosway at all, though Penny Reid is one of my favorites. I will definitely go back and read the others in the series soon.

As he slowly closed the door behind him and moved his eyes to look through the room, taking it in, she watched them get wide. They dropped to her and his amusement was clear. REVIEW

 This was another great addition to the Yeah, Baby series! This is Xander and Callista's story. Callista is just retired from the CIA and is looking for a less stressful job and more normal life. A friend recommends her for Gray Security Firm so she flies down to interview. The night before her interview, she meets, and has immediate chemistry, with Xander at a bar. They spend a really hot night together and make plans to see each other again (and hopefully start a relationship). But both of them are shocked to when Callista shows up to interview at Xander's firm. They have a few things to work out as far as working together but they work it out all out. And of course, there is a "surprise" baby on the way too!

This series is full of light, easy, super sexy reads and this was one of the better ones. I loved the chemistry between Callista and Xander, who was especially Alpha and swoon-worthy. They're hot, crackalicious fun! Looking forward to more from Fiona Davenport!

EXCERPT

Moving my arms into position and bending my legs, I motioned him forward with a wave of my fingers. As he stepped towards me, I forced myself to view him as an opponent while I went into combat mode. I held my position, waiting for him to strike first, kicking out at his left leg as I side-stepped his first punch. Swiveling on the balls of my feet, I quickly turned and aimed a hit at his kidney, but he was ready for me and blocked it. He followed it up with a quick jab to my stomach, and air burst past my lips involuntarily. Then he moved in close, tossing me onto the mat hard. As quickly as I could, I flipped up and back onto my feet.

From what I’d seen so far, he was as incredible as he claimed to be and he wasn’t holding much back. It was an odd time for it, but knowing he was giving it everything he had made me grin even as I kicked up at his middle, bending low right after I connected to attempt a sweep of his legs. He anticipated my move, sending me to the ground again using my momentum against me.

Scrambling up, I ripped my blouse over my head. It was restricting my movements, just like his shirt would have, and it also gave me a slight advantage for that brief moment when he couldn’t resist staring at my breasts wrapped in the lacy pink bra I’d picked out while thinking of him.
