Pick Six
by Max Monroe

Blurb:

Sean Phillips is a sexy as sin enigma.
Cocky. Promiscuous.
The New York Mavericks star wide receiver.

His quick moves and sure hands extend way past the lines of the football field—and into the bedroom.

Sure of himself and sure of his life, Sean’s convinced he can handle anything. But when beautiful, pint-sized Six Malone delivers a challenge he’s never faced before, his certainty starts to waver.

**

Six Malone is a force to be reckoned with.
Feisty. Hilarious.
The popular YouCam vlogger Pick Six.

The chance to work with the Mavericks on an eight-episode vlog series is the opportunity of a lifetime, and Six knows it.
But after an interesting first encounter turns into a head-to-head battle with cocky football star Sean Phillips, her attention shifts—to keeping herself from falling in love.

Too bad spending time with the team is part of the job, and Sean has a flawless track record…of getting what he wants.

    Review:

    3.5- 4 stars
    ****

This was a cute and funny book! Pick Six is Six and Sean's story. Sean is Cassie's brother (from Banking the Billionaire), and also an NFL football star. Six is a famous Youtube-type video vlogger. She is hired by Georgia, who does the PR for the team, to do a series of videos on the team. Six begins traveling with the team and getting to know them all well. She is attracted to Sean, but she thinks he is nothing but a player. Sean is very interested in Six and not easily deterred. He pursues her and she eventually gives in. Sexy times ensue, which leads to more and eventually a relationship.

It took me awhile to get into this story. It didn't pull me in right away, although it was funny, and I didn't feel the chemistry for a bit. But once it got going, the story was fun and interesting.
Six and Sean have been compared to Thatch and Cassie, which is my favorite Max Monroe couple. I have to say, I just don't think they were as funny or memorable as Thatch and Cassie. But, still, I did liked Six and Sean. They were cute together. Six is a character, funny and quirky. Sean is charismatic and confident. There is a conflict that leads to some hurt on both sides, but I felt it was a little silly and contrived. I wanted them to have more communication. I did think they were both a little immature and not experienced with relationships. They kept their relationship a secret through much of the book and I had a hard time buying into them being in love by the end of the book. I didn't feel like they spent enough time together to be in love. In the epilogue, we are told, but not shown, how much their relationship blossomed over the next few months. I wish we could have seen some of that. I did feel their love in the epilogue; I just wanted more of that in the rest of the book. The epilogue is cute, sweet and ended the book on a good note. I enjoyed seeing the other Billionaire Bad Boys couples. The Youtube vlogging aspect was fun as well. I liked the rest of the NFL players and look forward to their books in the future.

Overall, I enjoyed this cute, funny story. I did feel like the romance was a bit lacking. Still, this book was a light, easy, entertaining read and a great addition to this fun series! I look forward to more from Max Monroe!

He kept his salacious secret for years. But soon, everyone is going to be reading about it in their morning paper…

    THE VARLET (and the VOYEUR)

William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he’s now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn’t the clean-cut, all-American good-guy everyone imagines him to be. He’s got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever.

    THE VOYEUR (and the VARLET)

Joesy Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she’s finally get her shi…uh, act together. She’s set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there’s one teeny tiny road bump. Her living arrangements are coming to an abrupt end, leaving Joesy homeless and in need of a job to pay her way through college.

    THE PLAN

What he needs is a companion to keep him on the right path.
What she needs is an apartment with free rent.
Will is convinced Joesy will make the perfect companion, since she’s brutally honest and basically ‘just one of the guys.’ Joesy is convinced she can ensure Will doesn’t succumb to his voyeuristic proclivities by keeping a scrupulous eye on him.
Except, what happens when the varlet is tempted by the voyeur, and vice-versa?!
Perchance something very, very volatile. And vexing.

The Varlet and the Voyeur is a full-length romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the 4th(and last) book in the USA TODAY bestselling Rugby Series.

    Pre-order your copy today!

There will be no pre-order on Amazon. 'The Varlet and the Voyeur' releases June 11th on iBooks, Nook, and Kobo, then it goes away from those retailers forever! It then releases into Kindle Unlimited and Amazon Kindle on June 14th where it will stay.

I’d lived a privileged life, in the lap of luxury and surrounded by family. It had felt like I was on top of the world...until tragedy struck.
My sense of loss felt bottomless, and I struggled with it every single day. Finding my path back into the light seemed impossible.
But then I met Faith—she was smart, sexy, and out of my league even though she didn’t have a penny to her name. We grew up in different worlds, but somehow we fit perfectly together.
Except neither of us had counted on learning that our connection was more profound than we knew.

Serenity is the conclusion to the Fortuity duet. It was a pretty good, sweet conclusion to Dillon and Faith's story. After the cliffhanger in Fortuity, the couple is left reeling. They now have to deal with the fallout of the situation and figure out how to go forward with their relationship.

Overall, this was a quick, easy read. I did feel like the duet could have possibly been one book, instead of one story split into two books. But, I liked Dillon and Faith. They are both young and learning how to deal with relationships and grown-up situations, but they loved each other very much. This is definitely an NA book with all of the drama and immaturity that young adults have. The first 30% of the book was dealing with the cliffhanger from the end of Fortuity. The way that it was dealt with was melodramatic, kind of childish on both Faith and Dillon's part. After that conflict was dealt with, though, I enjoyed the book much more. It was a short, fast paced story that held my attention. I enjoyed seeing Dillon and Faith's relationship develop over the course of the duet. They were sweet together. It was great to see them both find happiness and overcome difficult pasts. They had a sweet, somewhat innocent relationship and a strong connection.

Overall, this was a sweet, enjoyable NA read. It did feel a little young for me, but I was not too bothered. Both parts of the Fortuity duet were quick, easy, safe reads. I enjoyed seeing the endearing and charming relationship develop between the couple. I look forward to more from Ms. Paige in the future!

    Serenity scares teaser.jpg

    Excerpt:

“You feeling okay?” I murmured in Faith’s ear as I pulled her closer. We were watching a movie, cuddled on the couch together. I was leaning back against the cushions in the corner, and she was between my legs with her head on my chest. But she wasn’t relaxed like she should be after a day out shopping with my mom. She was so damn tense she was practically vibrating with it. I slid my palms up her arms, pleased as fuck at the goosebumps that followed in the wake of my touch. There was no denying that she still responded to me with the same fierceness she had since we first met. But there was also no denying that something was wrong with Faith. She’d seemed off ever since we got situated on the couch a few hours earlier. I wasn’t sure what was bothering her, but it felt like she was pulling away from me. When she’d moved in with me a couple of weeks ago, life had seemed as close to perfect as it could get. We had our college degrees. My dad gave me a week off before I started my new job at his company. Living with me meant Faith could continue on for her master’s degree without worrying about money. It was a big fucking deal that she was willing to let me take care of her that way since she was so damn self-sufficient. My tough girl had finally taken down some of her walls and let me in. She’d even found the courage to admit she loved me. Out loud. Repeatedly. But no matter how often she said those three little words, I still felt like she hadn’t let me all the way in. I figured it’d take time, and I needed to be patient with her. To remember she wasn’t used to being loved by anyone and didn’t know how to handle it. Normally, I was okay with that. But tonight it was almost as though she was scared. And if my tough girl was afraid of something, then it was my job to make her feel safe. Which would be a hell of a lot easier if I knew what I was up against; only Faith wasn’t giving me much to go on.

So I do something crazy and ask Dominic Austin to find me a date. He does—if I find him one, too. Since we own Stupid Cupid, it should be easy, right? And it is. My date is perfect.
