Gorgeous, addictive, insanely challenging Ruby.
She’s smart, driven, self-confident, and so beautiful, she makes my chest ache.
#3 What is your biggest takeaway from the story?
Ruby Rockford and I are meant to be.
I just have to prove it to her.
For the entirety of my adult life, I’ve been content.
Content in my single lifestyle, content in my stressful-but-extremely-successful job as the main corporate counsel for almost every Fortune 500 company in North America, and content in my playful, spontaneous ways.
I had no idea it was possible for someone to change my mind.
The endless women and work are no longer enough, and just as Ruby Rockford told me—it’s about time I grow up.

The Billionaire Book Club is a fun, light read. This is Cap/Caplin and Ruby's book. Cap is a playboy and a billionaire lawyer. Ruby is a senior law school student who moonlights as a romance audiobook narrator. When Cap's trusty assistant goes on maternity leave, he is left floundering. He heads down to the law library to do some research and there he meets Ruby, who is filling in for her friend at the checkout desk. Her audiobook that she is listening to while she works accidentally begins playing a sexy scene out loud. Cap is immediately attracted to and intrigued by Ruby. He pursues her, but she is not impressed by his obvious manwhoreness. So he hires her to fill in for his assistant as a way to get closer to her. There are lots of funny moments but Ruby and Cap finally get together and get their HEA.
This book was entertaining, cute and funny, for the most part. I liked Ruby a lot. She is smart and driven to succeed. Cap is introduced in other books in this series and was a funny side character. But I didn't totally love him and I didn't feel like he was anywhere near as likable and endearing as Thatch. So i was a little weary going into his book that he might be annoying. But I did find that I wasn't as annoyed by him in his own book. I neither loved him or hated him. He is a nice guy and he means well. But he has always been a big manwhore and that is hugely present and overly-harped on in this book. The amount of random women throwing themselves at him is ridiculous, kind of gross, and not cute. (As a side note, why do authors write manwhores with hundreds of women after them, but the heroine doesn't have anyone that pursues her or seems interested in her?) But Cap is not interested in those women. From the moment he met Ruby he is interested in getting her in bed. He spends most of the book pursuing her with that one thing in mind, thinking he just needed to sleep with her once and get her out of his system. Ruby is resistant and hard to get. This goes on for too long, though. They don't even kiss until almost the end. The two of them had chemistry at first, but the longer the book went on without anything physical happening, I started to not be able to feel that chemistry any more. By the time they do get together physically, so much has been made of Cap's manwhoreness that it was all I could think of when he and Ruby are together. It made it feel less special. Because of the slow build up to anything happening, emotionally or physically between the couple, I didn't have enough time to believe in love between them. They had such a short time when they were together and happy. I never felt like they were in love.
Overall though, if you don't look too deeply, this was a cute, entertaining read. I enjoyed seeing all of the guys from the world together. Their romance book club was funny. The story was entertaining. I just found the book a little too fluffy and low heat for my personal taste. Still, it was not a bad read. If you are looking for something light-hearted and an easy read, this will be right up your ally. I still am a big fan of Max Monroe and look forward to what ever they come up with next!
