Excerpt

“Whoa,” she said. “You’re pulling out the big guns.”

“It’s for charity.”

She was staring at him again, unblinking this time.

And she did it so long, he had no choice but to ask, “What?”

“I really love you, Daniel Magnusson.”

When he heard that, no hesitation, he made a move, doing this toward her.

But her hand flew up his way and she ordered, “Don’t!”

Was she crazy?

Looking at him like that and telling him she loved him, she knew that bought his mouth.

At least.

“Don’t?” he asked, stopping his advance.

She tipped her head to the knots. “Are those fresh out of the oven?”

“Yeah.”

“And do you intend to kiss me right now?”

“Yeah.”

Now she planted her hands on her hips.

“Danny, I know you. I see the look on your face. If you kiss me with that look on your face, we’re totally having sex on the kitchen floor.”

She was totally right.

“And this is a problem?”

She repeated the move of tipping her head to the knots. “Those won’t be warm after sex.”

“I’ll make another batch.”

He could see her shift immediately to considering that.

She wanted to have sex with him on the kitchen floor.

Fuck, he loved this woman.

That meant he finished his move, rounding the corner of the island and pulling her to him with his hand wrapped around the back of her neck.

“One knot,” he murmured, eyes on her mouth, “then we’re having kitchen-floor sex.”

“Deal,” she murmured back.

****

Aww, this was a cute book. Dream Bites Cookbook is a collaboration by author Kristen Ashley, featuring stories about characters from her Dream Team series and other series, and Suzanne M. Johnson, cookbook writer. I really enjoyed the short stories about some favorite characters and all of the new gang in the Dream Girls series. So far, Book One from new Dream Team series has been released, Dream Maker, which is Evie and Mag's book. In that book, we met a few of the characters who have their own books upcoming in the series. In Dream Bites, I really liked reading stories featuring each of the new couples to come and getting a glimpse into their loves as a preview. I'm excited for the upcoming heroines- an artist, a single mom, and a house flipping chick! Kristen Ashley does insert herself as a character in the stories, which she has done in the past and I found kind of cheesy, but it bothered me less in this case and I didn't mind it. The recipes in the book look really good. I'm definitely going to try some of them out, especially the Buffalo Chicken Rolls. I really liked that these are recipes from the men, who cook for their ladies, as my hubby is the chef in our family too. I did wish there were more pictures of the food, as there are only a few. Otherwise, this was a good book. The book is worth reading, even if you aren't a cook and are just interested in the stories. But the recipes look so good that they might be enough to tempt you to try. Dream Bites makes me excited for the Dream Team series and more to come from Ms. Ashley!
