Review: Mastering Her Senses by Laura Kaye + Review Tour

Decadent… Sensual… Forbidden…

12 Masters. 12 Desires. 12 Fantasies Come to Life. Meet the Masters of Blasphemy…

About MASTERING HER SENSES (Blasphemy #2, 2/21/17):

12 Masters. Infinite fantasies. Welcome to Blasphemy…

He wants to dominate her senses—and her heart…

Quinton Ross has always been a thrill-seeker—so it’s no surprise that he’s drawn to extremes in the bedroom and at his BDSM club, Blasphemy, where he creates sense- depriving scenarios that blow submissives’ minds. Now if he could just find one who needs the rush as much as him…

When an accident leaves Cassia Locke with a paralyzing fear of the dark, she’ll try anything to get help. Ready to fight, she knows just who to ask for help—the hard-bodied, funny-as-hell Dom she’d always crushed on—and once stood up.

Quinton is shocked and a little leery to see Cassia, but he can’t pass up the chance to dominate the alluring little sub this time. Introducing her to sensory deprivation becomes his new favorite obsession, and watching her fight fear is its own thrill. But when doubt threatens to send her running again, Quinton must find a way to master her senses—and her heart.

My Review:

4 stars. This was a good book! I have read and enjoyed the other two books in this series, but this one is my favorite so far. This is Cassia and Master Quinton's story. Quinton is one of the 12 Masters/co-owners at Blasphemy BDSM club. He is a light hearted, charming thrill-seeker. He especially likes scenes that include sensory deprivation. He has wanted to find a sub to have a relationship with for awhile, but has had a hard time finding someone who is as fun-loving and adventurous as he is that he connects to as much outside of the club. Quinton met Cassia at Blasphemy and they seemed to feel a connection. They made a date to meet up and scene together at the club, but Cassia never showed up and hasn't been seen at the club since. Now, two years later, Cassia is back at Blasphemy. Quinton is still attracted to her but wants to know why she stood him up and never returned. Cassia is a scientist that studies caves and, on the night that she was supposed to meet up with Quinton, she had an accident that left her trapped for days in the dark. Ever since then, she has been scared of the dark. Now she is back at Blasphemy hoping to face her fears using sensory deprivation. Quinton is happy to see her again and help her out. As they work through her fears together, they find that they have as much in common in the club as out of out it and they fall in love.

I really liked both Quinton and Cassia. They are both adventurous, fun loving people. I felt that they had the best connection and were the best couple of the series so far. They were light-hearted and didn't take their play at Blasphemy or their rules overly serious. It was sweet to see how Quinton cared for Cassia and helped her get over her fears. The sensory deprivation scenes were interesting and sexy. I also enjoyed seeing them learn how to deal with their relationship outside of the club and work out what their boundaries were. There was no big blow up or angstyness to make things harder on them either.

Overall, I really enjoyed watching Quinton and Cassia's relationship develop and seeing them fall in love. I definitely look forward to more from the Blasphemy series and Laura Kaye!
