New Release: Disturbing His Peace by Tessa Bailey + Review!

Disturbing His Peace
by Tessa Bailey

Blurb:

She’s got probable cause to make her move . . .

Danika Silva can’t stand Lt. Greer Burns. Her roommate’s older brother may be sexy as hell, but he’s also a cold, unfeeling robot. She just wants to graduate and forget about her scowling superior. But when a dangerous mistake lands Danika on probation—under Greer’s watch—she’s forced to interact with the big, hulking jerk. Call him daily to check in? Done. Ride shotgun in his cruiser every night? Done. Try not to climb into his giant, muscular lap and kiss him? Umm…

Greer doesn’t let anything—or anyone—distract him from the job. Except lately, all he can think about is Danika. He’s wanted the beautiful, cocky recruit since the moment he saw her. But she’s reckless and unpredictable, and Greer is painfully aware of what can happen when an officer doesn’t follow the rules. Probation seemed like a good idea, but now Danika’s scent is in his car and he’s replayed her voicemails twenty times. Christ, he’s a goner.
Danika’s melting Greer’s stone-cold exterior one ride-along at a time. Being together could have serious consequences… but breaking a few rules never hurt anybody, right?

****

Another super sweet, emotional and hot book from this fun series! This is Danika and Greer's book. Danika is Jack and Charlie's roommate (from the first two books in the series) and fellow police academy student. Greer is a lieutenant and one of the instructors of the academy as well as Charlie's older brother and the son of the police chief. He lives for his job and does everything by the rule book. Danika and Greer have been attracted to each other for awhile but circumstances and fears have kept them from acting on their feelings. When she thinks he has been unfair to her friend, Jack, Danika starts to dislike Greer. But she makes a dangerous mistake with her job, and gets put on probation, requiring her to work more closely with and be monitored by Greer. They start to get to know each other better, feelings grow stronger and they give into their attraction. They have some emotional obstacles to overcome and they both must fight to get their well-deserved happy ever after, but it all works out in the end.

I loved Greer and Danika. They were both such layered, complex characters that were easy to relate to (and to love!). Greer was a one-of-a-kind hero. Strong but vulnerable, and living a very rigid, lonely existence. He had some major baggage over his mother leaving their family as a child. He was afraid to feel anything or let anyone in, for fear he would lose them. So he closed himself off from everyone, even his family and having no friends, living his life like he was enclosed in ice. Slowly, Danika began to thaw him out. She was too awesome and too tempting for him to stay away from or keep out. It was great to see him blossom under Danika's love and find true happiness. Danika was an awesome heroine. Fun, sexy, giving, honest and sweet. She too blossomed under Greer's love and protective care for her. They were a great opposites attract couple and together they helped each other become better people. They both had to make a conscious decision to live each day to the fullest and be happy together, instead of letting past fears rule them. I also liked that the fact that Greer being one of Danika's instructors wasn't a big taboo or obstacle in their relationship. And I liked the police academy aspect and tidbits about Greer's job as a police lieutenant.

I love Tessa Bailey's writing. She writes some of the best sexy, sensual scenes out there, chock-full of emotion! She makes sex scenes I've read so many times before feel brand new. So hot, but also emotional, sweet and deep. Also, I especially love her male POV. This was a great book to end this fun series. I have loved everyone of these books and am sad to see the series end. All three couples were awesome. I feel like this review turned into a love letter to this book and Ms. Bailey, but I can't help it. I definitely recommend this awesome series and feel it is some of her best work yet. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I can't wait for more from Tessa Bailey in the future!
