The only kinds of luck I knew were bad and worse...until my life hung in the balance. I finally caught a break in the form of a second chance.
I vowed not to let it go to waste.
To make a difference.
But I didn’t start really living until I met him.
Dillon Montgomery.
My complete opposite—except for our matching tortured souls.
I couldn’t resist him for long.
How could I when his smallest touch made my heart race?
When it felt like we were destined to be together.
But sometimes luck and sorrow are intertwined...

Fortuity was a pretty good, sweet book. This is Dillon and Faith's story. Faith is an orphan whose single mother died of a drug overdose, leaving her in foster care for years. When careless treatment by her foster parents leads to a medical issue, Faith's life is put in danger and she is forced to undergo a kidney transplant. Now, she is finally getting her life on track. She is a senior in college, working towards a degree in counseling. She also begins counseling high school students in the foster care system on how to get into and pay for college. A wealthy society lady (Dillon's mother) meets and becomes involved with Faith, helping raise money for her charity. Dillon is also a college senior at Faith's college. After he gets in a fight in a casino, his mother recruits him to help Faith, as well. When the two meet, they have an instant connection and soon start a relationship. But some things are not as they seem and they have some obstacles they are going to have to overcome in book two of this duet.

I liked this book. The story was interesting. I felt like the beginning and back story took a bit too long to get going. It was a little slow moving and the couple doesn't meet until 40%. It feel kind of YA until they met and quickly developed feelings for each other. I did like Dillon and Faith a lot. It was obvious they loved each other. They are both good people with good intentions. Dillon is not a manwhore and he is head over heels for Faith from the beginning. It was great to see them both find happiness and overcome difficult pasts. They had a sweet, somewhat innocent relationship and a strong connection. There is a twist, which I figured out pretty quickly, and a cliffhanger ending, but it isn't a relationship cliffhanger so I have hopes for an easy resolution in book two, Serenity.

Overall, this was a sweet, enjoyable NA read. It did feel a little young for me, I was not too bothered. Fortuity was a quick, easy, safe read. I enjoyed seeing the endearing and charming relationship develop between the couple. I look forward to the conclusion to Dillon and Faith's simple love story and more from Ms. Paige!
