This was a good book! This is Ryan and Mariana's book. Mariana is professional thief. She does not have a choice on her profession, though. All her life, she has been owned and controlled by some very bad men in the criminal world. Ryan works in the security business. He is on vacation in St. Croix with some friends from his business. Mariana is there to do a job, stealing a ruby necklace from a prince who is also vacationing at the resort. The prince's room is above Ryan's room. Mariana plans to have Ryan invite her to his room, drug his drink and use his balcony to get into the prince's room to steal the necklace. But Mariana did not plan on the very real chemistry between the couple at first conversation. Mariana never sleeps with a people to get a job done, but she really likes Ryan and wishes things were different. She does the job and leaves Ryan, drugged and asleep, but only after one amazing night together. Ryan is hooked though and he finds Mariana after she escapes. He tries to help her get out of the criminal life she is stuck in and along the way they fall in love. They go through some dangerous, crazy times together, but eventually get their HEA.
I really loved Ryan. He was head over heels for Mariana at first conversation. He could see that she was lying to him, but he wanted her anyway and was determined and very sweet with her. Mariana was a contradiction. She was prickly and snarky at times, but when she let her guard down, she was sweet too. I liked her, but not as much as Ryan. I liked their happy times together, but I wished that there were more. They went from having some sweet, emotional moments to 15 pages of bickering that irked me. I could have done without that, but I enjoyed the happy sexy moments enough for me to overlook that. There is also a separation that I did not love. But other than those few things, this was a really good suspenseful, sexy book!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It was full of intrigue, mystery, suspense, and some sexy, sweet and emotional times. I have enjoyed this series and I hope this is not the end. I am looking forward to more from Ms. Geissinger in the future!
