Eve Dangerfield is so freaking talented! Every book she writes is better and better. They are sexy and kinky with all the good emotions to go with the kink. Her books are also deliciously long and full of feels. This book is Kate and Ty's story. Ty and Kate work together. They have had a chemistry between them from the moment they met, but something happens between them on a work trip that turns that spark into a blazing inferno. They both know it should be a one time thing, a mistake, an accident. They're co-workers and have a big age difference between them. But they found something in each other that they never found before with anyone else. They're kinks match up perfectly and it is impossible for them to walk away from that. They decide to start a no-strings sex only relationship, which leads to them wanting more and falling in love. Things are complicated with friends, work, exes, and family but it all works out for them in the end.
Dangerfield's characters are so deep and layered. The characters' kinks and seeing the way they work them into their lives, along with the psychology behind them, is fascinating. You can't help but love the couples. I loved Kate and Ty. I feel bad for them both at times, especially Katie, as the way their relationship developed was a roller coaster and full of emotions. Ty sometimes acts like a jerk but he has some hang ups he has to overcome. I felt like Kate took him back a little too easily at the end. I also felt like I needed to hear their conversation about everything that had happened over the course of their relationship, which they were planning to have later off page. Still, it was very good and I felt all of the feels. I liked that Kate grew in character and became stronger. They loved each other so much and I definitely felt it. I loved the setting and the characters' friends too. I would love to see some of them get their own books too.
Daddy kink isn't my favorite thing, but the way it's done here makes it not a huge focus,. It was easy for me to understand why it was the characters' thing. It was just one part of the Kate and Ty's relationship and their love. I've read a few Daddy kink books and this was definitely the best one. I didn't love the stepfather role playing, but it didn't bother me enough to ruin the book and is only a small part/few scenes. For the most part, the sexy times were definitely sexy and a little dirty too.
Seriously, this book was so good I didn't want it to end. I wanted an epilogue but it looks like the couple might get another book at some point. Overall, it's the depth, the honesty, the emotions and the unforgettable characters that make this book so good. I definitely recommend it!
