This was a pretty good book. This is Nikki and Shane's story. Nikki's best friend, Ember, is married to Shane's best friend and business partner. Shane is the sexy co-owner/sometimes bartender and dancer of the Dirty Dog bar. Nikki is a second grade teacher. Both Shane and Nikki have been attracted to each other for a few years but both were in relationships. Now, though, they both happen to be single at the same time. But neither of their exes will leave them alone or stop begging them to get back together. Nikki makes a move on Shane one night at the bar, which gives her an idea. She approaches him with a plan. They decide to show both of their exes that they have moved on by acting like they are a couple and have a no-strings fling in the process. But the pretending turns out to be real and they fall for each other big time!
I liked Nikki and Shane both. They were a good couple. There was something that bothered me though. Shane turns from a charming, regular guy to a strict, sometimes cold dom in the bedroom, complete with "sirs" and all. To me, it was really out of place and odd. I tried to ignore that aspect of the book. It did not seem to fit the story at all, but it was not every time they were together though, so I was not bothered too much. Otherwise, I really liked them together. The book was fun and sexy. It was fun to see Ember and Nate again and there friendship with Shane and Nikki added a fun aspect to the book.
Overall, this was a fun, sexy, and sweet book! I enjoyed it and I really enjoy this series! Looking forward to more from Ms. Sloan!
