New Release: Three Guilty Pleasures by Nikki Sloane

Three Guilty Pleasures by Nikki Sloane is available now!

Deliciously addicting! The Blindfold Club series is your next binge read!

I didn’t expect to fall off the stage and land in the powerful arms of this gorgeous man. He’s a brutal warrior on the rugby field and a delicate artist with the cello, and the combination is irresistible. His music seduces. It inspires my dancing and demands my surrender. I gave up on my dream once, and I’ll need his help to resume the chase. He’s the only one who sees the real me, and when we take the stage together, I’m willing to give him everything. My submission. The dark secret I’ve been keeping. Even my tenuous heart. But will he want any of it once he knows the truth?

REVIEW:

3-3.25 stars
***

I am conflicted on this book. There were parts I really liked and parts I didn't. This is is Tara and Grant's book. Tara is an ameteur ballet dancer and she works at the Blindfold Club on the table (as a prostitute). Grant is Ruby's (from Three Sweet Nothings) best friend. He is a semi-professional rugby player and a cellist. While Tara is rehearsing on stage  for a performance,  she falls off the stage into the orchestra pit and onto Grant's lap. The two have a pretty instant connection and like each other right away. But Tara has some major complications and things that she is afraid to tell Grant, like that she works at the Blindfold Club. The two have a lot to work out before they can begin a relationship and they fall in love along the way.

I liked Tara and Grant. Tara is very open sexually and a free spirit. Grant is a good guy and he doesn't shy away from Tara's secrets. He wants her any way he can get her. They had good chemistry and made a fun, sexy couple and a good match.

What I didn't love was that Tara is a committed submissive with two Doms, Silas and Regan from Three Dirty Secrets. I didn't like that she was a necessary part of their relationship. It ruined their HEA for me a bit. I didn't love the descriptive sexy scenes between them sprinkled in the book because I felt it took away from Tara and Grant's relationship. Admittedly, FFM menage is not my favorite. While Tara did not love her doms, she really liked being with them and their sexy times. It is a big part of the book that she has this relationship with them and it dictates how her relationship with Grant plays out. It is not clear at the end of the book whether she continues to be their submissive, while being in a relationship with Grant.  He showed himself to also be a dom and he loved her. I didn't understand why he would possibly not be enough for her. Maybe if her doms had been two random others, instead of a past couple from the series, I would have liked the scenario more or understood it better. Instead, it made Silas and Regan, and her being their submissive, the obstacle to her relationship with Grant and the "bad guy" in the situation. She abstains for actually sleeping with Grant because of their rules for her, meanwhile sleeping with them even at the very end. I only enjoyed the sexy scenes with Grant alone.

Also, the fact that she worked at the Blindfold Club and had sex for money, was a turn on for both her and Grant. We didn't know if she continues that or not at the end. I was just left with the feeling that monogamy and one sexual partner in each other was not that important to them.  I was not comfortable with that. In all of Nikki Sloane's other books, I liked that the couple was truly committed, possessive, and obsessed with each other alone. That did not feel the case here. The end felt kind of rushed and vague. There is an epilogue, but the details of their relationship are blurry and not defined.

This is definitely a sexy book. I liked Tara and Grant as a couple and felt their love. I just couldn't wrap my head around Grant being okay with Tara sleeping with others. I wanted more of a defined relationship and I needed more details of how it would be. Still, this is an entertaining and easy read. I enjoyed the book overall,. even if it's not my fave from this series. I still love this series and Nikki Sloane's books and look forward to more from her in the future.

About 1001 Dark Nights Bundle:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors Heather Graham, CD Reiss, Kristen Proby, Liliana Hart, and introducing Darcy Burke.

Five Dark Tales. Five Sensual Stories. Five Page Turners.

HALLOW BE THE HAUNT: A Krewe of Hunters Novella by Heather Graham Years ago, Jake Mallory fell in love all over again with Ashley Donegal—while he and the Krewe were investigating a murder that replicated a horrible Civil War death at her family’s Donegal Plantation. Now, Ashley and Jake are back—planning for their wedding, which will take place the following month at Donegal Plantation, her beautiful old antebellum home. But Halloween is approaching and Ashley is haunted by a ghost warning her of deaths about to come in the city of New Orleans.

PRINCE ROMAN by CD Reiss Rules for my new job: 1) Do not have sex with a man in the office (again). 2) Do not break Rule #1 I’m playing it cool, clean, and professional…until I meet Roman Bianchi. He’s not an insecure nerd or an ego-hole like the other kings of Silicon Valley. He’s charming and handsome. He’s fun, funny, and smart. He’s also in the office across the hall. Two broken rules waiting to happen.

NO RESERVATIONS: A Fusion Novella by Kristen Proby Chase MacKenzie is not the man for Maura Jenkins. A self-proclaimed life-long bachelor, and unapologetic about his distaste for monogamy. Chase has one strict rule: no strings attached. Which is fine with Maura because she doesn’t even really like Chase. He’s arrogant, cocky, and let’s not forget bossy. But when he aims that crooked grin at her, she goes weak in the knees. Not that she has any intentions of falling for his charms. Definitely not. Well, maybe just once…

DAWN OF SURRENDER: A MacKenzie Family Novella by Liliana Hart Cole MacKenzie is content to be the sheriff of Surrender, Montana, but he’s needed for a greater purpose. The United States needs a U.S. Marshal with a certain kind of experience to track the leader of the notorious Silver Creek Bandits. The leader is smart, cunning, and ruthless. And he's also his brother. Elizabeth MacKenzie never dreamed she’d marry Cole MacKenzie, but thanks to her father’s meddling, Cole was hers to have and to hold. Forever. If only he loved her.

SO GOOD by Darcy Burke Cameron Westcott has spent eight years recovering from heartbreak by keeping romantic entanglements casual and simple. He’s never minded being called a player, but after two years immersing himself in his new winery, he might be ready for the next chapter. Especially when he meets a sexy wine distributor Brooke Ellis. Every Dark Nights tale is breathtakingly sexy and magically romantic.

REVIEW:

3.5-4 stars
****

I have read most of these 1001 Dark Night Bundle books. I like that I can normally find several really good stories and new authors in each bundle. This one was no different. Lots of good stuff packed into this bundle!

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors Heather Graham, CD Reiss, Kristen Proby, Liliana Hart, and introducing Darcy Burke.

HALLOW BE THE HAUNT: A Krewe of Hunters Novella by Heather Graham - 3.5 stars - This turned out to be pretty good. I had a hard time getting into it at first. I haven't read anything by this author and I think that hurt the story a bit for me. This story features an already established engaged couple and it is a paranormal mystery outside of that. I wasn't invested in the couple or the series already and it didn't capture my interest at first. I am glad I stuck with it, though. Once I got interested in the mystery, I enjoyed the book. I was just expecting a romance and the romance in this story is pretty minor, which is not my cup of tea. Still, I enjoyed the story and the mystery, which featured ghosts and a trio of killer witches during Halloween in New Orleans.

PRINCE ROMAN by CD Reiss- 3.75 stars - This was pretty good read! This is Roman and Raven's story. Raven has a history of having relationships with men she works with. It makes her work life messy and it eventually ends a lot of her jobs. She gets her dream job and is determined stay away from men at her new company, so she can work there for many years. But she didn't count on meeting Roman at her new job. They have an instant attraction and have a hard time staying away from each other. They do eventually give into their feelings for each other. They must decide how to work out the situation at work and whether their relationship can withstand the test it faces.

Even though this was a novella, it took a while for me to get into this book. The first 30% was pretty slow. I didn't understand their jobs or feel their chemistry at first. But it did gradually get better and I ended up enjoying it. I liked Roman and Raven. I did feel their chemistry and they were sweet and sexy together. I still didn't totally understand their job situation, which played a big part in the story, until the very end. I got the main gist, but it took me a bit to understand what was going on there. But I still really liked it! It was a low angst, feel good, sexy book.

Prince Roman is a spin off of King of Code, which I have had on my TBR list and I am going to read soon. I enjoy C. D. Reiss's writing style and I look forward to more from her in the future!

NO RESERVATIONS: A Fusion Novella by Kristen Proby - 3.25-3.5 stars - This was an okayish story. It featured two commitment phobes who push each other away a lot before they finally get together. I didn't really feel the love between them and felt their declarations of it came out of the blue. This was not a bad story, but it also wasn't great for me. Overall, it was entertaining enough.

DAWN OF SURRENDER: A MacKenzie Family Novella by Liliana Hart - 4 stars - This was really good and different! This story is a prequel to the MacKenzie Family series. I was pleasantly surprised that this was a historical set in Montana in 1892. It features a newly married couple finding their way together, with some suspense and adventure. I really liked this sweet, emotional and exciting read!

SO GOOD by Darcy Burke - 3.5-3.75 stars - This was a pretty good read. This story features two commitment-phobes working in the wine industry. It is a bit long and there was a lot of pushing away and denying feelings on both parts. It felt like too much pushing away, and when they finally got together officially, they were only together for a short time before there is a big blowup to break them up, and then they get back together at the very end. The pacing felt off, with the book rushed at the end and drug out for the first half. Still, this book had potential. I liked the writing style. The book kept me engrossed and kept my attention. I felt the emotions and the love between the couple. I will probably try this author again in the future.

Overall, I do recommend this bundle of novellas. They definitely kept me entertained and were all different and interesting in their own ways. I love these anthologies and have found some great new authors in them!

She’s fairly certain that her mom’s deliciously crazy family–arriving in the US a bit before her birth from Ireland–gave her the love of storytelling. She started out in theater and commercials, but once her children began to arrive, she stayed home and gave writing a try. She’s incredibly grateful to be doing what she’s doing for a living.        C.D. Reiss is a USA Today bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. Critics have dubbed the books “poetic,” “literary,” and “hauntingly atmospheric,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to chop a cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

REVIEW:

This was a pretty good conclusion to the Rewined trilogy. I was happy with where Paris and Tyler ended up. I don't want to give too much away, but they finally were able to work out their differences, show each other how much they love each other, and work out the mystery of their families' pasts. Together, they saved both of their family wineries, joined them together and got the HEA they both deserved.

I still liked Paris and Tyler. I did think some of their conflicts were a little silly and nonsensical. Sometimes the angstiness and conflict seemed just for drama's sake. I found the book soapy and entertaining, but I didn't really feel any of the emotions. Still, the story was interesting and enjoyable. I do think this trilogy is an entertaining read, especially if you are in the mood for some OTT drama.

The entire Getaway series is in Kindle Unlimited and ON SALE now! So check out the amazing excerpt below, and grab your copies today!

About RUNAROUND:

Can two people perpetually moving in opposite directions ever end up in the same place? Or will love just keep giving them the runaround?

Webb Bryant is intimately acquainted with every type of trouble there is. Trouble is all he’s ever known and the only constant in his life.

Webb’s a man constantly on the move. He’s a drifter. A wanderer. He bolts from one bad choice to the next, never able to put enough distance between himself and the ghosts from his past. He lives hard and fast, until everything comes to a screeching halt the moment he lays eyes on Tennyson McKenna. The stunning woman appeared out of nowhere to save the day, and Webb’s been unable to forget her. The leggy, blonde forest ranger might very well be the one person in the world important enough to finally keep him in one place. Only, Ten isn’t impressed by Webb’s knack for finding trouble. And no matter how hard he tries to shake it, he can’t escape his bad habit of falling into the deep end of questionable decisions. When his newest brush with trouble gets Webb in way over his head, Ten jumps after him into the dangerous waters. It’s possible they’re going to sink so fast they both might drown.

Tennyson McKenna makes it a point to be diligently cautious in all aspects of her life. She learned the hard way that leading with your heart instead of your head gets you nowhere.

Ten’s a woman stuck in a frustrating rut. After a string of failed relationships lands her back home, a pit stop to mend her broken heart becomes a hole she’s lost the will to dig herself out of. Coasting through her days was easy until Webb Bryant crash-landed in her path, complete with bullets, blood, and a grin far too charming for his own good. Webb is anything but safe and predictable. He’s everything Ten swore she would never gamble on again, but it’s impossible to ignore the way trouble follows him around like a shadow. And every single time Ten pushes Webb away, she finds herself chasing after him before he’s gone for good. When Webb’s past finally catches up to him, Ten has to decide if she’s brave enough to put her heart on the line for a man who might be gone tomorrow.

REVIEW:

3. 75 stars

This was a good book. Runaround is Webb and Ten's book from the Getaway series. Ten is a forest ranger and former FBI agent. Webb works at the Warner ranch after having been through an ordeal in Cy and Leo's book. Ten and Webb have had an attraction since they met, but she has rebuffed his advances. Webb is a flirt and trouble seems to follow him, plus he is six years younger then her. He is very interested in her though and can see them together in a serious relationship in the future. When trouble finds Webb again in the form of a bank robbing identical twin he never knew existed, Ten and Webb team up to find out what is going on and who this brother is. They go on a cross country trip and face demons from Webb's past, falling in love along the way.

The story and writing is very good. I enjoyed the suspense and was entertained. I like Webb and Ten in general. Their relationship is a bit slow to develop. I did find the material a little dry at times and I didn't 100% fully connect to the couple. Also, I felt the final conflict between the couple a little contrived.
Still, overall, I enjoyed this book. I like the feel of this series with the ranch setting and small town vibe. Also, we are introduced to the town of Loveless, TX, about which there is a new series coming soon, and meet some new intriguing characters there. I look forward to more from Ms. Crownover in the future!

  EXCERPT:

  ~TENNYSON~

The first time I laid eyes on Webb Bryant he was frighteningly pale from blood loss and nearly delirious from a raging fever. He’d been sporting a hole in his shoulder from a bullet wound and was terrified his brother was dead somewhere in the vast Wyoming wilderness. It was my job to protect and patrol, one I focused on diligently, but Webb was admittedly distracting. I thought he was going to pass out at my feet, a city boy in way over his head. He didn’t. He never wavered or stumbled in the unfamiliar terrain and unknown situation…not once. He’d impressed me with his resilience and his determination to find out what had happened to his older brother. He’d also caught my attention with those burning blue eyes and shock of blond hair, which gave the misleading impression that the man had a single angelic quality about him. Every long, lean line of Webb Bryant oozed playful mischief and bled the promise of wicked things done in the dark…or during the bright light of day. He didn’t seem like the shy type. Even injured and out of his mind with frantic worry for his older sibling, he was the most charming, most flirtatious man I’d ever met. He sent every defense mechanism I had into overdrive, and there wasn’t a second that slid by where I didn’t remind myself he was not my type in the slightest. Besides, once the Warners and I had both the Bryant brothers straightened out, I figured I wouldn’t have to dodge Webb’s advances ever again. He would ramble on to his next adventure and be out of sight and mind. I breathed a sigh of relief when he went away. He was too tempting. It was too enticing to give in to every single promise made by his easy smile and glinting eyes. Webb was several years younger than me, a man who was obviously lost and still trying to figure out who he wanted to be when he finally grew up. I was a woman who knew exactly who she was and who she could never be. I was never the type to chase after the bad boys, the wanderers, the reckless. No, I fell for the steadfast, the sturdy, and the solid. I gave my heart to the kind of men who held the world up and buffered everyone around them from the raging storm. I handed my heart to the oldest Warner brother, Cyrus, when we were just kids. Coming to terms with the fact the stoic and serious cowboy would never feel about me the way I felt about him had been one of the hardest things I’d ever had to do. We shared similar dreams, knowing our lives were so much bigger than the ranches that had our family’s bloodlines entrenched in the soil. We both wanted more than Wyoming, and for a long time, I honestly believed we were on the road out of our tiny town together. It didn’t happen that way. Sure, we both got out in our own time and in our own way, but we both ended up back where we started. Cy was taking his return home in stride. He was far less resentful about his homecoming than I was. In fact, the wedding Webb was dragged out of two short days ago was Cy’s. I thought it was going to be hard, damn near impossible, to watch the man I’d openly loved from afar for most of my life promise his forever to someone else. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I envisioned. Mostly because Cy was stupid happy with his fiery city girl. He’d never been that happy with me, before we left or when we both admitted defeat and came back home. He’d never loved anyone like he loved his Leo, so the sting of watching him put a ring on someone else’s finger was minimal. I would gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon before admitting to anyone, especially myself, that since the start of the wedding most of my attention had been on Webb instead of the happy couple. To my surprise, my heart didn’t feel nearly as trampled as I thought it would. It was too busy stupidly racing over the man I believed I wouldn’t see again and knew I should keep my distance from. The blond man with a penchant for trouble hadn’t stayed gone like I predicted. Nope. He’d shown up right when Cy needed help on the ranch and offered to stick around. Webb claimed he wanted to learn a new skill, seemed he’d taken a shine to the rough way of life in the Wyoming backcountry and wanted to play cowboy for a while. Cy couldn’t say no, and as badly as I wanted to, I couldn’t stay away. I was caught in an endless game of cat and mouse, and some days I wasn’t sure if I was the predator or the prey. I tracked Webb out of the corner of my eye for months. I expected him to up his game and try to lure me to bed, knowing the wedding was going to lower my defenses. Never in a million years would I have predicted he was going to be led away from the festivities in handcuffs.

REVIEW:

3 stars
***

I have to say Permission was only an okay book for me. I really liked book one in this trilogy, but book two was not as good for me, and unfortunately, this book was also not as good. Permission is the finale of Grim and Trick's story. The two of them want to defeat their enemies once and for all so they can go on and live a peaceful life together. I can't go too much into the plot so that I don't spoil any surprises, but I was pretty underwhelmed by how it all played out and resolved.

While I like a fast pace, I found the book too short and rushed to feel any emotions. There is a long separation between Grim and Tricks, where they don't even call or communicate at all. I did not understand how two people that love each other could go so long without speaking for no real reason. Why not at least call each other? Then when they do meet again, it's as if they were never separated and totally back to normal. I just found the whole thing bizarre and it nearly ruined the book for me. The timeline and jumps were inconsistent and confusing. I felt Grim and Tricks had lost the chemistry they had originally. I also found a few other things not believable.

Overall, while I liked this trilogy in general, Permission is not my favorite book in the series. I liked the story and premise in general, though, and I do think this trilogy is worth reading.

Excerpt:

Grim’s expression softens. “Let me make you feel good. Let me erase some of the hurt.” He pulls me against him for a searing kiss that makes me want nothing more than for him to be inside of me. Injuries be damned. His lips release me all too quickly. The gentle night breeze licks across my wet mouth, cooling my lips. Grim continues to my neck, sucking behind my ear. I dig my fingernails into his back as he trails his talented tongue down my shoulder then across my chest until he’s staring at my naked breasts. “Perfect, beautiful tits,” he whispers with such awe it almost sounds like a prayer. Sucking my nipple into his warm mouth, he toys with it between his teeth and tongue. I kick out my legs, needing more. So much more. "Shhhh...I got you, Tricks." I groan into the night as he moves to worship my other nipple. I’m in ecstasy and frustrated all at the same time. He lowers his lips down my body, trailing his lips across my skin, down past my navel. When he reaches my shorts, he tugs at the button. I lift my hips, to assist him in ridding the barrier of clothing between us. “Tell me if I hurt you,” he murmurs, his breath creates a tingling sensation against my already sensitive and swollen clit. I can only nod my response because his lips are on me again, silencing my words and consuming my thoughts. He's kissing me passionately in my most intimate place, parting my pussy lips with his tongue and lapping me up like I'm the most delicious morsel he’s ever tasted. He groans against my core. I'm holding onto him for dear life, my fingers splayed in his hair to anchor him to me and me to the ground. Grim massages my inner thigh with one hand while he works a thick finger inside of me with the other. Gently, too gently. There is no pain, only Grim and pleasure and everything I want in the world right here between my legs. I tense as he sucks my clit into his mouth. A feeling of pure electric heat sizzles throughout my body. My insides ache as the pressure builds and builds from a spark into an uncontrollable raging fire. He lifts away slightly, teasing me by blowing softly across my wet pink folds. I shutter so hard my teeth chatter. Arching my back, I pull on his hair, greedily and shamelessly grinding myself against his perfect face. He must like my reaction, because he groans against me, fucking me with his fingers and licking me over and over again like a crazed animal. As if making me come is all that's important in this world. “I’m close,” I tell him, pulling his hair even harder, egging him on. He lets out a guttural groan, flattening his tongue against my clit, stroking it up and down and back again. The tension I feel within me is borderline pain, twisting me from the inside out. I'm about to burst through my own skin. Grim lightly bites my clit before sucking it into hard his mouth one last time. I come apart on a roar of my own, screaming his name into the night. I contract around his tongue, coating it in a flush of wetness I can feel dripping down my ass cheeks as I writhe against his face. The pleasure smashes into me over and over again, shattering me into pieces like a hammer against glass. For the very first time in my life, I’m happy to be broken.

T.M.FrazierAbout the Author

T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier never dreamed that a single person would ever read a word she wrote when she published her first book. Now, she is a five-time USA Today bestselling author and her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world. T.M. enjoys writing what she calls sexy‘wrongside of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines. Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay. She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she's not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.
