First and Forever by Eve Dangerfield is now available!

Blurb:

Football player Sloan ‘Willow’ Williams has been looking for The One for years. He’s checked all the right places—and some of the wrong ones—and found sh*t all. But the moment he sees Eden Jade Cartwright, he knows she’s the girl for him.

Unfortunately, her entourage won’t let him anywhere near her...

Eden doesn’t want anything, aside from an international music career. She does, however, enjoy being worshipped, which the giant redhead seems inclined to do. But with a world tour beckoning, now isn’t the time for a boyfriend...

Willow has the perfect solution; a short, fake relationship that will boost Eden’s clout and scratch both their itches. Only he’s hoping the beautiful blonde will keep him around. And Eden's praying she’ll be able to let him go…

****

This was a good read! First and Forever is the third book in the Rebirth series and is Eden and "Willow" Sloan Williams's book. Willow is a pro Australian football player and is friends and team members with the heroes from the other two books in the series. Eden is an up and coming DJ, known as Bunny Descent, who is trying to catch a big break. Willow sees Eden perform at a club and is instantly smitten, determined to find a way to get her to notice him. Eden is trying to get picked up to tour as a DJ and to get discovered by more fans. When the two meet, Willow is willing to do anything to spend more time with Eden, including starting a fake relationship with her to bring her more social media followers. He can see that Eden is a bit of a mess at taking care of herself and she needs him, even if she doesn't know it. The sparks between them fly as they spend time together and their fake relationship becomes very real.

I enjoyed this story a lot. I really liked Eden and Willow, especially Willow. He was a doll and he adored Eden from the start. I loved his happy optimism and that he never doubted that they they should be together. Eden really needed him to help take care of her and they made a great match. They had a ton of chemistry and were super steamy together. Eden and Willow's story was sexy, dirty fun. I really liked the DJ aspect too.

Overall, this was a good book. I enjoyed seeing Eden and Willow's relationship develop. I don't know if there is more to come in this series, but I would love to see more. I look forward to whatever Ms. Dangerfield comes up with next!

Review:
3.5-3.75 stars
***

I enjoyed this book. Starry-Eyed Love is book two in the Spark House series and is the second sister London and Jackson's book. London is getting over a break up and is in a bar when she is approached by a guy who showers her with compliments and asks her out. But she turns him down because she doesn't think she's in a good spot to date after her breakup. Three months later, a big company approaches the sisters at Spark House with the opportunity to partner with them. As the business administrator there, London goes to meet with the company and finds that the man who hit on her in the bar, Jackson, is the CEO. The partnership goes through and London and Jackson work closely together. They become friends but neither feel they can act of their attraction to each other or start a relationship because of their business arrangement. But that is easier said than done and when their partnership is up all bets are off and they are free to date.

This story was pretty cute. I liked London and I identified with her anxiety. I liked Jackson in general, although there was nothing super special about him. I thought he was almost too much of a perfect gentleman. Still, I liked that he adored London. I liked this story in general, but I had a few things that bothered me about it. I found Jackson to be a little too formal in his speech and behavior. I also found the book a little slow and it took a while before anything romantic happened. And I did not like the OW drama that I felt took up too much time. I think it was added because the couple was kind of "on the boring side" together and it added interest, but I felt it added interest in a negative way. Still, I liked the book more than the first book in the series. I liked the Spark House location and the sisterly comeraderie. I was happy London got her stressful job situation worked out and got the happy ending she deserved.

Overall, I enjoyed Starry-Eyed Love. It was a sweet romance. I am looking forward to the third sister, Harley's book and whatever Ms. Hunting comes up with next.

Read on for a look inside Starry-Eyed Love!

My stomach does a flip-flop as our server moves on to another table and the hot guy slides across the bench seat and rises. He’s tall, must be over six feet, and lean. Broad shoulders that taper down to a narrow waist. I glance at his feet and notice his scuffed running shoes.
He rolls his shoulders back and crosses over to our table. He nods to my sisters, but doesn’t really look at them, his eyes on me. Now that he’s right in front of me, I notice they’re a deep mossy-green color, reminding me of a Colorado forest. “Hi.” A slow smile forms as his gaze moves over my face.
I feel it like a gentle caress and heat travels through my veins. It’s an unexpected reaction, so my own “hi” comes out rather breathily. “Thank you for the drinks and the food. You really didn’t need to do that.”
His grin widens, showing off perfectly straight, white teeth. “Well, I wanted to make a good impression, and have an excuse to come over and talk to you.”
Harley squeezes my leg under the table. I don’t risk looking at her because I’m sure she’s smiling like a loon.
“You certainly did that. Make a good impression, I mean.” Why am I so awkward right now? And why does it feel like this man is sucking all the oxygen out of the room and turning my brain cells into mush?
That gets me another smile. “I wanted to apologize if it seemed like I was staring. I hope I haven’t made you uncomfortable.”
I touch my fingers to my lips and resist the urge to play with my hair, but just barely. Why does this man make me feel like a starry-eyed high school girl? “You haven’t made me uncomfortable.”
“Good. That’s very good.” His tongue drags across his bottom lip. “I just needed to tell you that from across the room, you were beyond stunning, but up close.” He lets out a low whistle. “You are an absolute work of art.”
I fight with my eyebrows not to rise. This guy has all the lines. “Oh, really?” I lace my fingers together and set my chin on them. “The kind of art you might hang in your living room?”
“Bedroom, actually.”
I laugh. I can’t decide if this guy is too smooth for his own good. Or mine. I have to wonder how many times he’s dropped these lines on other women and they’ve ended up in his bed as a result.
“That sound is music to my ears,” he says, his white-toothed smile still in place. “I knew I’d be kicking myself if I didn’t come over here and at least say hello.” He slides a small piece of paper across the table, roughly the size of a business card. “I’m going to leave my number, and maybe if you’re interested, I can take you out for a drink, or dinner, or a hot air balloon ride.”
I can see exactly where this will go if I take that card from him. And while getting into bed with a random, attractive man might be fun, I know it’s not the right thing for me. Before I can really consider what I’m doing, or fully absorb the last part, I put a hand out to stop him. “I’m very flattered, but I have to be honest with you. I won’t call you. I have a boyfriend.” The lie tastes sour on my tongue. Although, had it been three days earlier, it would have been the truth.
Avery does some kind of cough-choke thing, and I kick her under the table and get Harley on the back swing.
His smile falters for a moment, but he doesn’t break eye contact. “That’s disappointing, but unsurprising. I didn’t see a ring, so I’d hoped maybe luck was on my side.” He tips his head to the side. “Is it serious?”
“Pardon me?”
“You and this boyfriend, are you two serious?”
This guy is unbelievable. “And if we are?”
“Hmm.” He withdraws his hand and slips the paper in his pocket. “I’d hate for karma to pass judgment on me and get in the way of our future together, so I’m just going to hope I run into you again when you’re single. Have a lovely night, ladies.” He nods to my sisters and gives me one final lingering glance before he winks. “Thank you for existing.”
And then he walks away.

Blog Tour: Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend by Penny Reid + Review!

Title: Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend
Author: Penny Reid
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Comedy
Release Date: April 12, 2022

BLURB

Winnifred Gobaldi and Byron Visser are not best friends.

Yes, they’ve known each other for years, but they’re not even friendly. Winnie considers them more like casual, distant acquaintances who find each other barely tolerable, especially when he's being condescending (which is all the time).

The truth is, they have nothing in common. She’s a public school science teacher with stars in her eyes, and he’s a pretentious, joyless double PhD turned world-famous bestselling fiction author. She loves sharing her passion for promulgating women in STEM careers and building community via social media, and he eschews all socialization, virtual or otherwise. She’s looking for a side hustle to help pay down a mountain of student debt, and his financial portfolio is the stuff of fiduciary wet dreams. So why are they faking a #bestfriend relationship for millions of online spectators?

When a simple case of tit-for-tat trends between nonfriends leads to a wholly unexpected kind of pretend, nothing is simple. Sometimes, it takes a public audience to reveal the truth of private feelings, and rarely—very rarely—you should believe what you see online.

Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend is a full-length, complete standalone, adult contemporary romantic comedy.

Review:

3.75 stars
***

This was a pretty good read, but kind of an odd, definitely unique read, as well. Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend is a standalone book and is Winnie and Byron's book. Winnie and Byron have been in the same friend group since college. Winnie's best friend and roommate, Amelia, is Byron's best friend. But Byron and Winnie don't know each other very well. Winnie has always felt intimidated by Byron because he stares at her a lot and is bluntly honest about her job and other things in a way that she doesn't understand and that hurt her feelings. Byron is a reclusive famous author. Winnie is a science teacher and she does social media videos of experiments and such to encourage girls to enter the STEM field. When the opportunity for a side job that is right up her alley in social media and STEM comes available, Winnie decides to beef up her social media following to get an interview for the position. She asks her newly single crush to do the videos with her, but when that falls through, Byron volunteers to help her complete her video challenges. As they spend time together, Byron reveals he's had feelings for Winnie for years. They get to really know each other and understand how each othe ticks. Winnie and Byron were a good couple and I felt like they were meant to be.

This story was good. However, Byron and Winnie were both kind of odd people. At first, I found it hard to understand and identify with them. But I did grow to like them together by the end and feel the love and chemistry between them. They were sweet together and I liked how they adored each other. Their relationship is slow burn and there is no sealing the deal in the sack, which I am not a fan of. But they were both virgins and there are a few sexy moments in general. And I enjoyed the social media challenges and Winnie's love of STEM.

Overall, even though this was a bit of an odd read, I still enjoyed it. I liked seeing how Winnie and Byron's relationship developed and by the end, I was fully invested in them as a couple. I enjoyed their sweetness, sensitivity and undestanding towards each other, as well as their ability to communicate and willingness to better themselves. They were a smart, mature couple who deserved to find their perfect match and happyness. I look forward to what Ms. Reid comes up with next.
