Things you need for a good Block Party:
1. Awesome food
2. Great Music
3. Fun games
4. A secret spot to hook up with your even-more-secret
girlfriend.
Liam Edenhoff is a simple creature. He likes women, tacos, and sex. As long as he has those in his life, everything is good. He's finally realizing maybe he's just not cut out for relationships - surely there's got to be a woman out there who'd be okay with roof top margaritas, casual sex, and no attachments.
Enter a new neighbor - one who is allergic to commitment and prefers her sex casual but frequent. She's seen him at his worst and is still willing to play his games, on three conditions - discretion is a must, casual is key, and absolutely no drama. Sounds like the perfect arrangement. What could go wrong?
Famous last words when dealing with neighbors.
This story contains scenes of a graphic sexual nature, multiple uses of coarse language, and more tacos than is healthy or sane to read about. Reader discretion is advised.
This is the third installment in the Twin Estates series

MY REVIEW:
3.75- 4 stars
****
This was a pretty good book. This is Ayumi and Liam's story. We knew Ayumi as the buttoned up, cold and blank assistant to Wulf, from the previous two books in the series. Liam comes off as a very happy go lucky, never serious, manwhore. They were total opposites to each other, but turned out to be just what the other needed. I won't go into the story too much, because I don't want to give anything away. But somehow these two come together and start a relationship, full of ups and downs, which gradually leads to strong feelings between them.
I was a little taken aback when I heard who the heroine in this book was going to be. We didn't know much about Ayumi, but I (wrongly) assumed she didn't have much personality. I thought she was kind of robotic. After I got into the book more, I realized she is more reserved, but she turned out to be a character I really liked. Liam, I also was unsure about. He had been lying to Katya in the previous two books about not sleeping with other people. (He was. A lot of other people.) I liked Liam, but I didn't trust his character to ever stay faithful, or truthful, in a relationship. These two came off as total opposites from the outside. I really was thinking they were such an odd couple. But as the story went on, I could see that they had a lot of similarities too. Both had a lot of family baggage and they each hid their feelings in their own ways. They both were not experienced in relationships, were afraid and insecure, and made some mistakes. But after awhile, I grew to like them both even more and thought they were a great opposites attract match. They both were able to teach each other some things. Ayumi learned to let go and relax and allow someone to get close to her. I got over Liam's manwhoreness and uncontrollable flirtiness with every thing on legs, and started believe his feelings for Ayumi and that he wouldn't cheat.
There was a lot of back and forth drama and angst in this book. These two had a lot of emotional issues to get over and both of them needed to grow up a bit. They really put each other through the emotional ringer. I was a little frustrated by both of them at times. And I really would have liked more resolution at the end and more time to see them happy, without fighting. But, overall, this was an enjoyable, angsty, but still fun and sexy read. I liked the themes of family and friendship. There is a fun roadtrip too. I look forward to more stories from this series, as (hopefully) some of the side characters get books down the road. I definitely recommend this series!

Crazy woman
from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a
necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about
right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see
shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm
clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
I like dogs
more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I
do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the
year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a
curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't
understand me.
Yeah. I
think that about sums me up.
