About 1001 Dark Nights Bundle:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors Jennifer Probst, Tessa Bailey, Elisabeth Naughton, Laura Kaye, and introducing Erika Wilde.

Five Dark Tales. Five Sensual Stories. Five Page Turners.

SOMEHOW, SOME WAY: A Billionaire Builders Novella by Jennifer Probst When an opportunity to transform a dilapidated house in a dangerous neighborhood pops up, Charlotte Grayson goes in full throttle. Unfortunately, she's forced to work with the firm's sexy architect Bolivar Randy Heart (aka Brady), who's driving her crazy with his archaic views on women. Somehow, some way, they need to work together to renovate a house without killing each other... or surrendering to the white-hot chemistry knocking at the front door.

TOO CLOSE TO CALL: A Romancing the Clarksons Novella by Tessa Bailey A fairytale college career skyrocketed Kyler Tate to the NFL draft. Adoration and opportunity are thrown in his direction wherever he goes, thanks to being chosen in the first round by the Los Angeles Rage. None of the accolades mean anything, though, without his high school sweetheart, Bree Justice, by his side. Four years ago, she walked away from Kyler, choosing a quiet life over the flash and notoriety his career would someday bring. Now he's back in their Indiana hometown, refusing to leave for Los Angeles without her.

HUNTED: An Eternal Guardians Novella by Elisabeth Naughton Erebus was Hades' secret weapon in the war between the immortal realms until Hades lost him in a bet to Zeus. For the last hundred years, Erebus has trained Zeus's Siren warriors in warfare and the sexual arts. But he's never stopped longing for freedom. Lately, he also longs for one Siren who entranced him during their steamy seduction sessions. A nymph he quickly became obsessed with and who was ripped from his grasp when her seduction training was complete. One he's just learned Zeus has marked for death.

EYES ON YOU: A Blasphemy Novella by Laura Kaye When a sexy stranger asks Wolf Henrikson to rescue her from a bad date, he never expected to want the woman for himself. But their playful conversation turns into a scorching one-night stand that reveals the shy beauty gets off on the idea of being seen, even if she's a little scared of it, too. As Wolf introduces her to his world at Blasphemy, Liv finds herself tempted to explore submission and exhibitionism with the hard-bodied Dom.

THE MARRIAGE DIARIES by Erika Wilde Even after nearly twenty years of marriage, Jillian Noble is still madly in love with her sexy-as-sin husband, Dean. But now that their two sons are grown and it's just the two of them alone again, there's something that Jillian wants from her husband - the dominant man he rarely lets show. When Dean agrees to unleash his more assertive side, all bets are off as he introduces her to dark, forbidden desires that will change the course of their marriage.

Every Dark Nights tale is breathtakingly sexy and magically romantic.

My Reviews:

4 stars
****

I have read most of these 1001 Dark Night Bundle books. I like that I can normally find several really good stories and new authors in each bundle. This one was no different. Lots of good stuff packed into this bundle!

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors Jennifer Probst, Tessa Bailey, Elisabeth Naughton, Laura Kaye, and introducing Erika Wilde.

Here are my thoughts:

SOMEHOW, SOME WAY: A Billionaire Builders Novella by Jennifer Probst:
3.75 stars. This was a pretty good book! I really liked this story. This is Charlotte and Brady's story. Charlotte is a house renovator for the company Brady is an architect for. They are forced to spend time together on a project, where they go from enemies to friends to lovers. I liked Charlotte and Brady and I felt the love between them. Their relationship was a little slow burn. They didn't like each other and prejudged each other at first, which bothered me a bit. Also, I didn't like that Brady was so stuck on having traditional gender roles. That he loved Charlotte but was willing to let her go, because he wanted a wife that didn't work. He did eventually see the light, but I wanted him to see it sooner. Still, I did like the novella. I also liked the family and friend group in this series, as well as the house renovations aspect. I have not read anything by Ms. Probst before, but I will definitely try her again in the future.

TOO CLOSE TO CALL: A Romancing the Clarksons Novella by Tessa Bailey:
4 stars. This was a good, little novella! This is Kyler and Bree's story. Kyler was a high school football star and totally in love with Bree. She loved Kyler, but did not feel like she could leave her single father alone after high school. She decided not go to college. But she didn't want Kyler to give up his dreams of playing college football and going into the NFL draft. So she broke up with him with no explanation. She became an assistant to her veterinarian father and worked with animals. Kyler, heart-broken, went off to college and was drafted into the NFL. Neither of them dated anyone else. At the draft, Kyler realized how he had always imagined Bree there with him. He returns to their small town to convince Bree that they are meant to be together.

I liked Kyler and Bree together. Kyler was very sweet and totally in love with Bree. I liked Bree, but her reason for breaking up with Kyler with no explanation to him was a little frustrating. I loved that, while they were separated for 4 years, both were celibate and never even thought about being with others. I did feel like the story was a bit rushed. There was enough in the story to be fleshed out into a full length book, but it was packed into a novella instead. Still, I did enjoy seeing Kyler and Bree get their HEA. This was a very sweet, sexy, small-town feeling romance and I very much enjoyed it! Tessa Bailey never disappoints!

HUNTED: An Eternal Guardians Novella by Elisabeth Naughton:
3.75-4 stars. This was a really good story! I was a bit worried because I haven't read this series before and had no idea on the world building. But I caught up quickly and understood what was going on. This is a PNR book set in a God/Goddess themed world. This was Sera/Seraphine and Erebus's book. Erebus is a minor God, forced to work for Zeus, helping train Siren warriors. Sera is one of the warriors he trained. They became lovers and developed feelings for each other, but are forced to move on when Sera's term with him is over. Now, eighteen months later, Erebus has been sent on an errand to find a runaway Siren, which turns out to be Sera. She is on the run and hiding an artifact that could change the fate of history. When Erebus finds out the truth, the two rekindle their feelings and join forces to save the world. The story was sexy and suspenseful, but also funny at times and emotional. I really enjoyed the world building in this series and look forward to reading more from it and Ms. Naughton!

EYES ON YOU: A Blasphemy Novella by Laura Kaye:
4 stars. This was a good book! I think this is my favorite Blasphemy book yet. Each new book in the series keeps getting better and better! This is Wolf and Liv's story. Wolf is one of the twelves owners of the Blasphemy club. He has been feeling tired of the club life and wants to find someone to settle down with. Liv owns a flower shop. She has had terrible luck with men and is running out of hope of finding a long term relationship. She is on a date from Hell with a big jerk when Wolf overhears her distress and saves her. They have an instant chemistry and end up spending the weekend together. Both of them feel like fate brought them to the same restaurant that night and they start spending more time together. Wolf introduces her to the Blasphemy club and his kink, voyeurism, and finds she already had an unexplored interest in that. It is easy for them to fall for each other!

I really liked both Liv and Wolf. They were so fun together- sweet, sexy and playful- like they've known each other forever. They had a great connection and banter. I loved that neither of them took the BDSM to the extreme or took themselves too seriously. I also loved that this was an easy read, without much angst, and that there was no pushing away, doubts, secrets, or big blow outs. The voyeurism aspect was super sexy too.

Overall, this book was sweet, sexy and fun! Looking forward to more from Ms. Kaye and Blasphemy!

THE MARRIAGE DIARIES by Erika Wilde:
3 stars. This was only okay for me. This book is a series of scenes that I felt did not work well as a full book. I understand they were original released as a serial, and maybe they worked better that way. This book is about a married couple trying to spice up their sex lives by trying out different things. I don't mind books about married couples, but there was very little conflict to keep my interest. There were some hot sex scenes, but not much story to move along. The wife, Jillian, came off as pushy and overly aggressive too. I was turned off by the dominatrix scene and the scene where the husband watches the wife dance sexily with other men at a club. Overall, I didn't enjoy this story very much, but it might be just my personal taste.

Overall, I do recommend this bundle of novellas. They definitely kept me entertained and were all different and interesting in their own ways. I love these anthologies and have found some great new authors in them!

About Tessa Bailey: Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention. She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

About Elisabeth Naughton: Elisabeth Naughton is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. From Elisabeth: “I was never one of those people who knew they wanted to be an author at the age of six. I didn’t have imaginary friends. I didn’t write stories in my journal or entertain my relatives by firelight after Thanksgiving dinner. For the most part, I was just a normal, everyday kid. I liked to read, but I wasn’t exceptional at it. And when my teachers complimented me on my writing abilities, I brushed them off. I did, however, always have a penchant for the unique and absurd. And as my mother told me all throughout my childhood, I should have been an actress—I was a drama queen before my time. “Years ago, my husband bought me Scarlett: The Sequel to Gone With The Wind. If you ever saw the book, you know it’s a long one. I sat and read that thing from cover to cover, and dreamed of one day being a writer. But I didn’t actually try my hand at writing until years later when I quit my teaching job to stay home with my kids. And my husband? After that week of reading where I neglected him and everything else until I finished Scarlett, he vowed never to buy me another book again. Little did he know I’d one day end up sitting at a keyboard all day drafting my own stories. “My writing journey has not been easy. I didn’t just sit down one day, decide I was going to write a book and voila! sell my very first attempt. As most authors will probably agree, the path to publication is filled with hours of work, pulling all-nighters I thought I’d given up in college, sacrifices, rejections, but a love I discovered along the way I just can’t live without. Instead of a big, thick book to read by lamplight (I do read much smaller ones when I get the chance), I’ve traded in my reading obsession for a laptop. And I’ve never been happier. “I’m one of the lucky ones. I have a wonderful family and fabulous husband who put up with my writing—and obsessive personality—even when life is chaotic. More than once my kids have been late to swimming or baseball because I needed just five more minutes to finish a scene. Their support and encouragement mean the world to me. I also have amazing friends and a support network I couldn’t survive without. So to all of you out there who have encouraged me along the way, sent me emails and fan letters, phone calls and congratulations, I just want to say, thank you. You make this whole writing gig that much more enjoyable. I truly wouldn’t be here without you.”

About Erika Wilde: Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers. So, why the new pen name? As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories. Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.
