New Release: Love Lessons by Sarina Bowen + Review!

Love Lessons by Sarina Bowen is now available! Check it out!

Blurb:
He needs an image makeover, she needs a mojo upgrade. A new lessons-in-seduction hockey romance from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Sarina Bowen.
After I’m arrested for throwing a raucous party, my hockey team says I have an image problem. And I need to fix it, stat.
Charity work? Check. Haircut? Sure. But I draw the line at hiring my neighbor to style me. In the first place “style” shouldn’t be a verb. And I’m tired of people who’d judge me on appearances.
Vera and I don’t see eye to eye on anything. She wants me to try on clothes, while I just want to remove hers. She's distractingly pretty, with soulful eyes and a sinful mouth that likes to argue with me.
But when management threatens my summer vacation, I grudgingly agree to Vera’s unusual proposal: she’ll give me an image makeover. But in return, she wants lessons in the art of seduction.
It sounds a little nutty, but I know a good opening when I hear it. Besides, it’s not like I’ll ever fall for her…

Review:

3.75-4 stars

This was a cute book! Love Lessons is book twelve in the Brooklyn Bruisers series and is Ian Crikey and Vera's book. Vera is a budding personal stylist who works with one of the wives of the Bruisers team and has become good friends with her. Ian is a player on the Bruisers pro hockey team. Vera and Ian also happen to live next to each other. They've met before but both kind of rubbed each other the wrong way. Ian has a party at his apartment that gets too loud, so Vera calls the police, which results in him getting arrested. Because of that, the management of the team needs him to clean up his image. They both get invited to go on a trip to Italy with their mutual friends. As Ian and Vera get to know each other on vacation, sparks fly and they realize they misjudged each other. Vera offers her styling services for Ian's image in exchange for him giving her tips in seduction in order to get back at her ex. Romance blooms and they soon find themselves falling for each other.

This was a fun story! I really liked Ian and Vera together. It took me a little bit to feel their chemistry, but I liked them together once I did. They were a cute couple. I really liked the Italian vacation setting, as well as Vera's job as a stylist, which I found interesting and different. I also enjoyed seeing Vera gain confidence and Ian growing as a player and team member. I really enjoyed the ending too.

Overall, Love Lessons was a fun and entertaining read. I enjoyed this great addition to the series and I look forward to more from Ms. Bowen in the future.
