Life is short. Time is fast.
No replay. No rewind.
That’s my motto.
And there’s nothing wrong with that. That is until the day I turn 27 and everything changes. Suddenly, I’m expected to… 1) Move back to my hometown. 2) Stop partying. 3) Take over my family’s winery. 4) And get married. Wait! What? That last one I didn’t see coming. I’m Tyler Justin Ryan Holiday III, Northern California’s most eligible bachelor, and I don’t do monogamy. It’s just a wild guess but I’d have to say that monogamy isn’t going to do me, either. My grandmother won’t listen to a word I have to say on the matter. And since the old battle-axe is still at the helm of my legacy, it’s not like I can blow her off. However, when she tells me whom she thinks will make the perfect bride, and then subsequently drops me at said bride’s door, I nearly lose my f*cking mind. Sure, dear old granny tries to sugarcoat the situation with a lot of glitz and glamour, but there’s no turning ash into fairy dust. Paris Elizabeth Hollis Fairchild isn’t only the ultimate party girl and terrible wife material, she’s also my sworn enemy. We loathe each other. We have good reason. And it isn’t because our families are competitors. Needless to say, I’m not surprised when the she-devil slams the door in my face—but it still pisses me off. Apparently, she doesn’t know me as well as she thinks. Doesn’t understand I’ve changed. Doesn’t realize her rejection only spurs me on—makes me want to tame her, claim her, make her mine. Then again, at 27 I’m no longer a lovesick teenager. I’m a grown-ass man with a big ego and an even bigger…never mind. Paris says she doesn’t want to know how big I am, in any sense of the word. I don’t believe her. Either way, it doesn’t matter. She’s a challenge I can’t resist. A temptation I can’t ignore. The woman I must have. We haven’t spoken in ten years but mark my words, she and I will be doing that and a hell of a lot more—very soon. Life is short. Time is fast. Replay. Rewind. That’s my new motto. And there’s no sugarcoating that.

Review:
3 stars.
This was a pretty good book. This is Tyler and Paris's book. Tyler and Paris were both spoiled, rich kids from families who owned wineries when they met in high school. They had a very intense, but short relationship that ended terribly when something happened between them. Now, it is ten years later, Tyler has been a playboy with no ambition, waiting to reach the age where he inherits the family winery so he can run it. When he reaches that age, he finds out the winery is doing poorly and may go out of business unless he can save it. His step-grandmother, who has been running the winery, tells him to marry Paris and use her winery's assets to help save his winery. But Tyler and Paris hate each other. She is not apt to help him. Still, when they meet again, he is still attracted to her and can't keep his hands to himself. He tries to convince her that marrying him is the best option for them both.
This book is a quick read and the first book in a three book serial. While I liked this book in general, I had a few issues with it. I didn't really like Tyler for most of the book. He is a a$$ of epic proportions and a manwhore without one pleasant thing to say. We only get his POV for the first third of the book and it was hard to hang in there for me. Even once we got Paris's POV, I didn't like her that much either. They still hate each other from their blow up in high school, which it is not revealed to us what actually happened yet. I think it would have helped a lot to know what happened because we don't know if they were ever in love. I needed that context to make me care about the characters. I definitely didn't like the hate vibe they had going on between them. Also, it took me until half way through the book before I started feeling any chemistry between them or start liking either of them at all. The book did get better as it went a long. I did like them both better as the book neared the end. The book is short, but from the blurb, I still expected more. I had to struggle to get through the book. But I do like the story and I'm hoping the characters begin to become more easy to identify with and likeable as the series continues. Also, be aware there is a cliffhanger.
So, while I didn't totally love this book, I am looking forward to seeing where the story goes next and hoping Tyler and Paris become characters I like more.
