Daredevil
by Fiona Davenport

Ainsley Carruthers has never been afraid to take risks. When she’s offered a stunt role in a movie, she jumps at the chance to try something new. But she might be taking more of a risk than she realizes when she falls for a sexy man with a dark past.

Remington Vaughn has fought hard to conquer his demons and come out on top. When he’s given a chance to rebuild his Hollywood career, he doesn’t expect to find a new addiction...Ainsley.

Warning: It’s not just the hero who’s over-the-top in this one; the heroine is too—literally! But that just means more yumminess for you because she’s an aerial silks performer, and her flexibility meant we could get super creative. Be prepared for this Hollywood with Alexa Riley story to leave you wanting more.

This was a pretty good book. Daredevil is the 4th book in this series of standalones centered around Hollywood and the rich and famous. This book is Remington and Ainsley's story. A former child actor who battled a drug addiction, Remington is now recovered, healthy and finding his footing in his career as a stunt coordinator for movies. There he meets Ainsley, a former cirque du soleil style acrobat who is now acting and performing as a stunt woman on the movie Remington is working on. It's love at first sight for them both. Ainsley is saving herself for marriage, so Remington decides to marry her as soon as he can, which turns out to be the day they met. These two move fast!

I enjoyed this book. It is a fun, sexy, easy and quick read. I do think it is my least favorite of the series, not because it's a bad book. It was just a little lacking in chemistry. Remington was bossy and gruff in his possessiveness to Ainsley, as heroes often are in this genre of books, but there was not a good enough balance of sweet to counter the roughness, to me. He just seemed to be yelling at her at times. Other than that aspect of his personality, neither he or Ainsley had much personality. They were a just a little bland and unmemorable. Still, I did enjoy the book in general. The stunt work aspect was  interesting and fun. I did enjoy the story as well.

Overall, this was a pretty good read. I look forward to more from this author duo and this fun series in the future!
