This book was okay for me. I enjoyed parts of it, but others not so much. This is Catherine and Chris's second chance love story. Catherine was a rich girl and Chris was a poor boy from the same small town when they met and feel for each other as sixteen year olds, but something happens to dramatically rip them apart and alter the course of their lives. Now, thirteen years later, they meet again, only their status's have changed, with Chris as a very rich Wall street guy and Catherine is penniless. There is much more to the than that, but I don't want to give too much away, so I won't go into more plot detail. They do, eventually, sort everything out, forgive, and work their way back to each other.
I didn't understand why, during the time they were separated, Chris had married Lucia, or why they divorced for that matter. I needed Chris to have a conversation about what happened. I didn't really understand Lucia's part in the book or why she became close friends with Catherine by the epilogue. This book ended at 50% and I felt it needed much more resolution. The way the couple acted in the epilogue bore little resemblance to the way the couple appeared in the rest of the book. I didn't want them to become this rich, jet-setting couple. I wanted them to stay down to earth and normal. I needed to see them together more and happy to feel secure in their HEA. The story was interesting and the writing was very, very good. I enjoyed that aspect very much. Overall, though, I just didn't love this book. Still, it is worth reading , especially because you get to see Catherine's sister, Harper's story happening at the same time (from King of Code).
