Winning Hollywood’s goodest girl is going to take everything I’ve got.
Winning Hollywood’s Goodest Girl, an all-new laugh-out-loud surprise baby rom com by New York Times bestselling author Max Monroe is available now!
Raquel and Harrison sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love.
Then comes marriage.
Then comes a baby in the baby carriage.
That’s how her brother used to sing it when we were kids—a simple ploy to get under my skin and make me stick my fist in his face—but man oh man, did he get the order wrong.
One night of “kissing” in New York catapulted us straight to the pregnancy portion of the song—surprise!—and now I have to figure out how to carry out the whole melody in reverse.
A baby on the way first.
Then love and marriage?
It’s complicated on its best day.
But our situation is far more problematic than just a simple twist of nursery rhyme lyrics. Before our night together, Raquel Weaver was the best-known good girl in Hollywood—a twenty-nine-year-old sexpot virgin whom the world adored and watched like a hawk.
Obviously, the consequences of that kind of reputation don’t just go away. Add in pregnancy hormones, the media, a fake fiancé, and a selfish manager, and you have the short list of my problems.
As a thirty-four-year-old, successful CFO of a multibillion-dollar media conglomerate, I thought I would be able to handle anything show business could throw my way, but I’m starting to think I might be in over my head.
Good thing I’m all in.

This is a cute book! Winning Hollywood's Goodest Girl is set in the world of the Billionaire Book Club. This is Harrison and Raquel/Rocky's story. Rocky is the younger sister of Luca, from Taming Hollywood's Baddest Boy. She is a former child star turned Hollywood actress. She is also known for being a "good girl" and a lot is made of her virginity in the press. Harrison was her childhood neighbor who she lost touch with. She happens to run back into him at a bar in New York on a work trip. He recognizes her as his childhood friend, but has no idea she is now a big movie star. Rocky loves that she can be her true self with him. They share an attraction and a wild night together, where she loses her virginity to him, although he has no idea. Afterwards, they go their separate ways, with Rocky returning to her life in Hollywood. So, Harrison is shocked when, a few months later, he sees Rocky on tv and the news is that she is no longer a virgin and is pregnant! He immediately wants to be a part of his child's life. Spending time together preparing for parenthood leads to love between the couple, and an HEA.
I thought this was a fun, cute, light story. We are only told in flashbacks about Harrison and Rocky's night together. After Harrison finds out about the pregnancy, he is determined to be an involved father. The two spend time together and get to know each other more, becoming friends and then beginning a relationship. They have a very slow burn relationship progression, without very much chemistry, which continues most of the book. I liked Rocky and Harrison okay, but both very a little timid. Rocky lets her manager and the rest of her professional team walk all over her throughout the book. She does grow a backbone eventually, but it took quite a while. Harrison is a very nice guy. He knows he wants to be a father to Rocky's baby, but he grows to want a romantic relationship with her, as well. But he is not pushy or very alpha about how he goes about winning her favor. Rocky is a lonely woman and not at all a diva. She really needed Harrison and his friends to help bring her a more full, less work focused life. I liked them both okay, but didn't totally love their characters. I did think it was a little far-fetched that Harrison recognized an adult Rocky as the 5 year old neighbor he remembered, when he ran into her at the bar. I also didn't really like the villain storyline or all of the trouble they caused. I wanted to see them get their just desserts, but it is only vaguely mentioned in the epilogue. Still, I liked the fun story and surprise pregnancy is one of my fave tropes.
Overall, this is an entertaining, easy read. I was happy that Harrison and Rocky came together and made a sweet little family. I am still a fan of this series and look forward to more from Max Monroe in the future!
