This was a really good book! The Temptation is the fifth book in the Filthy Rich Americans series and is Vance and Emery's book. Vance is the younger brother of Royce and son of Macallister Hale, the heroes from the previous books in the series. Emery is the mysterious one in this book. She works for a seccurity company and puts herself in a situation to meet Vance in order to get his help in getting revenge on a mutual enemy. They both find themselves feeling a connection and fascination with each other. The two join forces and fall for each other along the way.
I really liked this story. It was not as dark as the previous books. Vance is not so mysterious and shady as the other heroes. He is a reforming playboy who is trying to be a better person and really is underneath a nice guy. I realy liked both him and Emery. They both had good intentions and were really sexy and sweet together. Vance truly adored and appreciated her. They had great chemistry and the book felt really good and comfortable to me safety-wise. Vance has accepted a bet from a friend to not have sleep with anyone for 3 months, but soon after he meets Emery. So he fights temptation in order to stay celibate after he meets her until he can win the bet. The book definitely has heat and burn, so I didn't feel cheated, but there was only one full sex scene. However, they other sexy stuff going on was plenty to keep me a happy reader. I liked the mystery going on in the story and the fact that Emery was a safe-picking specialist was fun and different, as well.
Overall, this was a good book. I think it might be my favorite of the series. Vance and Emery were just really sweet, sexy and easy to identify with. I enjoyed their story and I hope there is more to come in the series. I look forward to more from Ms. Sloane in the future!
